Tweaking Out
Tune, adjust, tweak... I had an actually satisfying night of code fixes last night as opposed to a frustrating one.

First up, 7Seas 2.0 Tech. It's coming along great and the limited alpha test I did last night worked like a charm. With luck the entire beta kit will be available to send to my testers tonight. The new communications tech may not be foolproof but it's cleaner and more reliable, and that's all I care about.

For the final 2.0 release, I'm thinking what I'll do is send Servers, Vendor, and Contest Board all in ONE BOX to fishing area owners... make it easier on them rather than issuing them as separate items. I'm getting the occasional hippotech screwup where it infinitely sends update kits despite the rezzed copies in-world being the right version... including one testy IM yesterday from someone pissed about this happening. But I checked and rechecked and rerechecked, and everything is as it should be, PLUS it's not doing this for every user, just some... so, it's out of my hands. I hate bugs that are out of my hands, but I can accept them as the cost of doing business.

Finally, Skeeball. Apparently H4 handles collisions differently, scriptwise, and it resulted in a lot of 20s where someone should be getting 40s or 10s. I was nervous that this'd be another unfixable bug but I actually found a good solution; using collision() instead of collision_start(). A bit more costly on run-time so I optimized things as much as I could before settling on that as a solution, and now, it works really well. I'll issue a patch for these later.

I like it when things get fixed. Either fixed completely or fixed as far as I can fix them considering outside influences. Hopefully a week or so from now, I can cut my IMs down to the level they were at before 7Seas launched.

I'd post about teevee or movies or games but I didn't indulge in any yesterday, just code. Code I'm glad is dealt with and being dealt with properly.
